Open to aspiring barbers aged 15+, every element of the Academy reflects the That Guy Standard — where technical skill, confidence, professionalism, and creative identity are developed from day one.
The Academy Experience
This programme is built to do more than teach techniques — it is designed to develop complete, industry-ready barbers.
The course delivers hands-on, industry-standard barbering education rooted in real shop-floor experience, while also equipping students with the business knowledge required to succeed in today’s industry. Every lesson focuses on practical application, professional discipline, and building the confidence needed to perform both behind the chair and beyond it.
Throughout the programme, students will develop a strong technical and professional foundation, including:
- Conducting professional consultations and understanding client needs
- Precision scissor work across multiple cutting structures and styles
- Accurate sectioning and confident work on different head shapes
- Safe and effective use of electrical shaving equipment and open razor techniques
- High-level detailing, finishing, and professional presentation
- Core business awareness, including client retention, time management, and professionalism
- Social media fundamentals, covering content creation, consistency, and building a personal brand as a barber
All techniques are taught through live, step-by-step demonstrations delivered by the educator. Training is carried out on both mannequin heads and live models, ensuring students gain real-world experience and confidence in every cut. Students are required to bring models to class, reinforcing consistency, accountability, and hands-on learning throughout the course.

This course is designed specifically for individuals with little to no prior barbering experience who are serious about building a career in the industry.
Students are guided from the very beginning of their journey and trained to a professional standard that reflects the discipline, quality, and expectations of the That Guy Standard. Alongside technical ability, students develop the mindset, professionalism, and business awareness needed to succeed in a modern barbering environment.
By the end of the programme, graduates leave not only qualified, but confident, capable, and prepared to operate as professional barbers — both on the shop floor and within today’s digital landscape.
THAT GUY BARBER ACADEMY: TUESDAY MORNING CLASS

Start your week with focus and momentum. The morning class offers a professional, structured learning environment ideal for those who prefer daytime training.
Students receive full practical and theoretical instruction, live demonstrations, and guided hands-on practice using their That Guy Barber Academy professional kit.

THAT GUY BARBER ACADEMY: TUESDAY AFTERNOON / EVENING CLASS
4:00 PM – 8:30 PM
Designed for students balancing work or study commitments, this session delivers the same comprehensive curriculum during later hours.
Experience the full Academy training journey — live demonstrations, practical model work, and portfolio development — all while working with your fully professional industry-standard barbering kit in a focused small-group setting.
